Dear Wife,
I this morning set my self
down to write you a few lines to inform you that I am well at Presant. and hope when this come to Hand it may Find
you enjoying the same great and kind blesing.
We are at this time at buffalow gap about 10 miles west of Stanton. we left orange monday the 14 and came to
Stanton that night. and the 15 we come
here. and we are here at the presant
time, but know not how long we will stay here. Some say we
dont expect to stay here but a few days and I hope we wont Stay up here in this
wild mountain country among the rocks and hills. my Dear wife I have almost give
out looking for a letter from you for
I have writen three or 4 letters to you and have not gotten but one
from you and that was the one that Isaac brought to me. I received one from farther and was so happy
to hear from you all. you must write as
soon as you get this. give my love to
all enquiring friends, and keep a potion for your self and children, you must
excuse this badly writen letter. no more at presant but remain your sincere husband
